FCCLA Officers attend National Cluster Meeting

Kailee Caldwell, Jaedyn King, and Kaylynn Perkins, members of the Pocola High School officer team of Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) and over 1,600 FCCLA youth members and adult advisers from across the country gathered in Louisville, KY, November 9-11 for the annual FCCLA National Cluster Meeting.  These meetings provided FCCLA members with opportunities to learn career-applicable skills such as interview techniques and impromptu speaking.  Members also took part in educational sessions on personal finance, consumer responsibilities, technology, health and safety, and more.  By attending National Cluster Meeting, students were give opportunities to demonstrate skills they've learned through FCCLA, while also exposing them to a new city, culture, and situations that they may encounter in their colleges and careers.  Students coming together to prepare for a bright successful future at the Louisville National Cluster Meeting provided a positive outlook for youth today and inspiration for what tomorrow holds for our future.

In addition to the educational and inspirational FCCLA activities, attending members also took part in educational tours of The Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory, Shimpff's Confectionary, Churchill Downs, Louisville Glassworks, attended a dinner theater performance at Derby Dinner Playhouse, and participated in a ropes course at Louisville Mega Cavern.  These students would like to thank the businesses and community members that made this trip possible.
